New additions question

For some time now I've noticed that the skins on the "new additions" list seem to move downwards at different rates. Is this the result of an algortithm?

If so, my guess is that the factors are the newness, rating, and daily downloads. What factors are really considered?

They move down when there are new uploads. Thats all.

Ok, so how come some items move down the list while others remain in place?

It's when they are uploaded. They can sit in the que until moderated. Then they go up by the time they were uploaded, not moderated. You can have 3 journeyman direct upload and 3 apprentices up load and get added to the new addition list in front of the journeyman because of the time element they were uploaded. Hope this makes sense.

I don't think that Jobelaca's question was satifactorily answered...
I feel that certain people are given preferential treatment.
This site is funded by the little people who support it in various ways but it
seems to me that only the top ten to twenty people in the "A" list get the best and
quickest support and encouragement.
Tell my I'm wrong!
You can't because I won't believe you.

Like any community, those who have been here longest get the best treatment. That's natural and there's nothing wrong with that. It would only be wrong if the newer guys got totally ignored, which doesn't happen here.

And btw, I consider my question to be satisfactorily answered. Believe me when I say that I would keep asking questions until it was.

I guess you could call it the difference between people who are ignorant because they just don't know (yet) and people who are happily/wilfully ignorant.

I'd like to know what WOM thinks is the definition of an ignorant person, is it someone who questions what you say?

There is no 'A list'.
There are simply people who do/help/contribute/get involved, and there are those who do not.
'Preferential treatment' is more a 'you reap what you sew'.
Actively involved members eventually can do such things as upload direct without admin check/filtering, but that is a privilege, not a right.
Get involved....make a difference....skin something....'communitize' [I just coined a new verb/word]...
