I cant make up which I like....
I love some of the backrounds you pepole have made, and love the corona Blinds thing, but I have a 2.4Ghz P4, with 256Mb DDR Ram, and I did notice a major slowdown.
I un-installed, and then re-installed, checked the startup times for with and without, with , it took a huge 57 seconds to go to a fully usuable state, without, it was completely functional in little of 30 seconds.
Which do you prefer?

I wonder whats wrong. An extra 27 seconds. On my machine it's only a few extra sec.

also, the general overall performance gets bogged down a bit as well.

I still say AMD makes the better chip for graphics.IMHO

If you have a virus checker running, exclude bmp files and it will make a big difference.
