Firefox won't open with WB 7.42

Okay, so I've completely wiped WB from my system, and reinstalled. I have also reinstalled Firefox 24, disabled HW acceleration, and neither of these things have fixed my issue.

Basically, unless I create an exception for FF in WB, then FF will never actually open. It will show in task manager, but the window never actually appears. However, if I create an exception, FF will launch, but will be missing the min/max/close buttons, and have an ugly blue bar in place of an actual title bar.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Try upgrading Windowblinds to version 8.0...It works on Windows 7 and 8 and...did you download FF from the Mozilla website? FF v24 works well on many systems together with Windowblinds 8.0

I paid for it when it was still WB6, and 7.4 the latest download they give me to download. I can't see paying for the upgrade when it might not work.

Edit: Oh to hell with it. Upgrade was $7; a lot cheaper than I thought.

Try de-install WB and REBOOT.

Re-install the new WB and REBOOT.

After that, if FF does the same thing then do the same with it.  Be sure to install the latest FF from Mozilla.

It works here just fine on Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

But...

I literally just did that exact thing with WB, and I have already reinstalled FF trying to fix this. I said I reinstalled FF in the OP, and I figured it was implied with WB.

did you follow the REBOOT step exactly??

If so send a trouble ticket to support because I'm not seeing that in FF at all.

Uninstall/reboot/install/reboot

I have since uninstalled, rebooted, deleted residual files in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds and C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\WindowBlinds, ran ccleaner, rebooted, reinstalled, then rebooted once more.

No go. It's still acting up with Firefox.

I have also opened a support ticket, but figured I'd post here in case anyone has any ideas while I wait for Stardock's response.

I had this issue and, also like the OP I believed it was windowblinds causing the issue. Just by chance, on one occassion I quit from the docking application I was using along with window blinds and started firefox and it worked. It also worked with the docking application if firefox was sandboxed using comodo sandbox. The docking application I was using was Winstep nexus ultimate.

As I said, if nexus wasnt running firefox and windowblinds was fine. Since then I have also discovered other programs that have themeing capabilities will interfere with windowblinds, it cannot be windowblinds interfering with those programs since excluding the programs in windowblinds makes no difference

What you need to do is unistall programs other than firefox and windowblinds, one by one, until you find the one thats causing the hassle

Also if you themed the FF interface using an alternative FF theme you need to set it back to the default theme

In case anyone else ends up having this problem, switching to Waterfox ended up being a solution. Only issue I've had is the Google voice plugin doesn't seem to work.
