WinCustomize Browser Problem

I just downloaded and installed the WinCustomize browser... The first time I opened it it flashed a message saying my evaluation period has ended.

What's ^ w/that?

Sounds like you either got an older version of Browser or your system date is wrong. Did you download from an e-mail link or from the website direct? At the moment I can't think of anything else which could cause that to happen.

We've removed the timeout for evaluation from the installers (after 7pm EST today).

Link http://storage.stardock.com/files/WinCustomizeBrowser10_pub.exe

That's the same filename you downloaded earlier, but its been refreshed.

Jobeleca, are you on a non-US English version of Windows? I suspect there was some date-format bit.

I downloaded it direct from the site. Nope, I'm a US English user. I'll check out the link and let you know if the update works.

Ok, I just uninstalled the old version, downloaded the new version (just after 10pm EST), and installed the new version.

I am still having the same problem. The first time I open it a message pops up saying: "Your evaluation period has ended. To continue using the WinCustomize Browser you must register at: https://www.stardock.com/products/wincustomize/purchase.html"

Jobeleca,

Any chance you had installed a previous beta of the shareware version? It may be picking up the date you original installed it and timing out based on that date.

Yes, I did have a previous beta version. What you suggest could easily be. What file contains the date? I had uninstalled the beta, but apparently that didn't do anything about the date issue.

YOu have to clear the registry data.....
