Aaaaaagh ! Skinbrowser not working!!!

I don't seem to be able to get the new version of skinbrowser working. All I get when starting it up is a box saying 'download 1 of 1' and no network activity. I've uninstalled, deleted the folder, deleted cookies re-installed etc, no effect. I wish I'd stuck to the old version...

Fuzzy, there have been some posts lately about things being freaky right now.I'm wondering if this has anything ta do with your problem.Do you still have an earlier version on your machine??

I have RC1, but I haven't got the e-mail with the serial number in it - the new version has a different serial number. This is a new pc and my old e-mails are still on my old pc...(don't feel like messing with that one, my nerves can't stand it...)

I just noticed something else too. When I close the download screen (cos it's not doing anything) wincustomize.exe is still running in 'processes' and my internet connection locks up. On ending the process my internet connection starts responding again....

All very strange.

if you go to the https://www.wincustomize.com site, you can download the SBv1.0...the serial number is right there on the page

Durn Fuzzy, that sucks.I forgot about that damn serial # or I would email you one of mine,,seeing how Stardock is putting them out like every other day now,I am tired of installing them. And the trouble that usually follows. Is the Internet working for you otherwise??

Err, this is version 1.0...and it has caused me no end of grief. There is definitely something not right with it. This is a brand new pc and is still problem free so that can't be to blame.

Anyhow, took drastic action - loaded up my old pc, saved my e-mails to CD-RW, imported those to my new pc, installed Skinbrowser RC-1 and guess what....WORKING.

How odd...

hmmm...maybe you could e-mail Brian Harper [email protected] he's the lead developer. He would probably want to hear from you.

Fuzzy, mine has been working ok too.Minus the very very slow message boards.I have no idea what could be going wrong with your new browser.I'm glad you got RC1 though!!I thought, as I looked at 1.0, that I'm not having any trouble now, and no listed improvements are displayed,,why do I want this??For what it's worth,,I see no difference at all in the last 3 browser releases.
