I just became a member and downloaded a windowblind but windows xp says it doesnt know what kind of application it is can someone plz help

You need the WindowBlinds program to use them. You can find a download link to the shareware version of WindowBlinds here: http://www.windowblinds.net

Once you've installed the WindowBlinds program, you'll find a new tab has been added to your Windows XP Display Properties, called Appearances.

In this tab you can select to which skin to activate. You can add more skins by either double-clicking the skin file (***.wba) from Windows Explorer, or pressing the Add button in the Appearances tab.

Are you running 'Windowblinds' or have you simply downloaded a w/b skin?
XP can't recognise a file without the application to run it.
