Hi all,

I found this site by accident but love it already.
My question is this: What do I need to be able to download all these lovely themes and Icons and where should I buy it from?? Is it simple to get up and running and are all themes FREE once software has been bought? Do the icons, wallpapers and menus etc come together or downloaded separately?

Please also feel free to list any other info. you think I should know about

From the Wincustomize home page, if you click on one of the "Library" links to see skins in that category, it will also give you information about the software needed to use that skin. Many of the applications (WindowBlinds, DesktopX, WebBlinds, IconPackager, etc) are part of a suite called Object Desktop published by Stardock (www.stardock.com). There are also skins available for Windows Media Player, Winamp, CoolPlayer, and other software.

You can "register" for a free account with Wincustomize, which lets you download the skins, but I think there may be a limit or something. You can also subscribe to WinCustomize for a few perks. Click the "about" link under "Options" on the home page.

There is a 100 meg download cap for users that can be removed by doing one of the following:

1. Particpate on the website by hanging out on the web boards, commenting on skins and just basically being sociable.
2. Buy a Stardock product (heck WindowBlinds is only 20 bucks)
3. Buy a two year subscription to wincustomize (again only 20 bucks for 2 years, pretty good deal in IMHO). This also gives you the wincustomize skin browser for accessing the site and access to premium skin suites.
