Progress Bar Colors

Where's the control in WB8?

In Windows 7, outside of WindowBlinds anyone wishing to change the color of the progress bars seen for installations, etc. had to edit the MSSTYLES file directly.  I have many files I created for this purpose.

I figured WindowBlinds would make things easier.  It hasn't--probably because I don't know which button to push, so to speak.

I see that different skins in WindowBlinds 8 (running Windows 8, no 8.1 preview) have different colored bars.  For instance, "Corporate" has a yellow bar and "Echo" turns it white.

In what part of the skin is this controlled?

EDIT: Found everything in SkinStudio (which is buried on the "My Downloads" page if you log in to Stardock).

Open SkinStudio and open a WB. Go to Edit Controls/Edit Progress Bar Controls. To change the colors you would have to make new graphics of your color choice. Replace your graphics with the ones in the WB.

Remember this is for your own use and can't upload that skin as yours.

Oh this is all strictly for personal use anyway.

Do you have any recommendations on creating new colored progress bars?  I took the base image, turned it B&W (to preserve highlights), then did a color overlay in Photoshop.

Don't know if that worked for you or not. If you have PS I assume you know how to use it a bit as least. You can always use the included graphics in the skin as a template. Than just make them any color you wish and replace the ones in the WB with yours. As long as you are using them as a guide the code used in skinstudio will be fine.

Best way to learn is to just play around with things.

Not sure about the new interface{sks} , but the old had some shines and glows and such for use in the windowblinds folder, under skinstudio, templates, or something like that.

I was successfully able to edit the color of progress bars using SkinStudio and Photoshop.  Much easier than hacking resource files and running unsigned themes.

Thanks!
