Re Iraq Poll

Re Iraq Poll

I voted for option 3. However, Saddam should have been sorted out during the gulf war. We had the chance to chop his ass into tiny pieces right then. Problem sorted. Because that route wasn't taken then we have the situation now whereby either action or inaction is unacceptable. Plus the additional suffering caused to the people of Iraq by Saddam over the intervening period since the gulf war and the almost immediate butchering of the Kurds. We really left them with their flies open.

All too late and all too frantic. This is not going to end well for anyone.

http://www.rnw.nl/hotspots/html/us021008.html from a dutch correspondent.
Bakerstreet, the attack on Afghanistan was done by NATO and the US. Remember it was the first time since WW2 the NATO applied the rule of helping a friend in wartime. The majority however was done with the overwhelming power of the US.
Iraq is a different case, ousting Saddam will solve it? There I agree with Aleatoric. And ofcourse I agree with Carlitus. He is right. Politics shouldn't be polled on a skinning site. He knows what terrorism is. As I have written earlier, Europe tries to deal with it as good and as bad as it is.

I know Doreen. This is why our (in Canada) journalists commented that they don't understand where he got his "within one year" since the report made public by the Intelligence services said in 2010. Bush just seems in a hurry. You know as well as I that words of politicians are not always truthful, as long as it gets them what they want.

Paxx they never say what is really going on... you have to feel the air...
the secrets they keep from the public are a shame, and they only release a few facts when they are down to the wire

cuz even our hospitals are stock piling for Bio attack while the past news was going on to say oh dont worry everything is fine relaxxxxx

but w/ each passing day the air gets thicker, who knows...
I only freak out thinking about my kids, if we get that mushroom cloud it will be faster then the bio...

how sad to think human beings do this stuff to each other

/me goes to listen to some Reggae stuff! hehe

whatever will be will be, you guys no use even debating it...

ya'll need to just go skin something and get your minds off of this. whatever happens will not be altered by the efforts of you on a skinning board/site.

like i said...you want to make a difference, join up, earn the rank, do the time, become productive.

it's just like people who don't like a site. don't complain. become productive and influential, and then call your shots once you have the respect and following/influence.

go skin something and put your focus on something else, if you can.

There are no good solutions now, and there were no good solutions when I was in the Vietnam war. The lack of good solutions there was overshadowed by the more imminent concern that people in my immediate periphery presented me with a dilemma: kill them first or die. I was very consistent at choosing the former so you're stuck with me. The next terrorist act on our soil which murders hundreds or thousands of people will take the current debate out of the ethereal philosophical strata and bring it down to the realm of gritty reality/survival where, for better or worse, philosophical niceties only whisper in a voice that's barely audible. Why are we talking about stuff like this on a great site like this when we could be skinning something?

what´s that crap with until you´re not in the military you´ll have to shut up? and that minature nuclear precision bombing sounds REALLY great should i scan some photos my father has taken in Kabul and Belgrade? you´ll be amazed how smart those and precise those bombs really are ... of course that is stuff never covered on CNN.

hey mosh, i'm saying your words on a message board have less effect on effecting change than physically doing something, and civillians are limitted on what they can physically do.

"everyone except them should shut the hell up, because they are the ONLY ones with the possibility of being in direct action." followed by "quit getting your skirt in a ruffle and either do something about it or shut up and go skin something".

that was the quote from me, by me, moshi. it says, again, if you aren't the one travelling into harm's way, then quit the ranting, since it does nothing productive, and get to skinning, which is what this site is about. Not politics, not religion, not medicine, not race, etc...

and again...when i said "your" words on a message board...I'm not saying you specifically, but generally, encompassing all of us.

so, when i have other goals in my live than learning how to kill people i am not allowed to voice my opinion?

I didn't go to nuke school like they wanted when I was 18, so now I am I'm off to join the Pasty-White-GeekTroll corps. At 32 they oughtta make me a general...

I'm well acquainted with the use of a rail-gun, plasma rifle, and the BFG10k, so all I need to do is learn where the Iraqi spawn points are and I'll be a campin' madman. Lag could be a problem, though, the Chinese have laid a lot of fiber there lately. I figure their ping times will be pretty good. If i get lucky with the Quad Damage you should all be safe in no more than a couple days.

PH34R M3 3V1l D03rs!!

(and if I can't find the recruiter for the Space Marines (HUMILIATION!), I think I'll just make supper and then skin some more. I wish the check for my hosting would clear...)

voice all you want.

i'm just saying politics and war suck in a place where creation is the emphasis.

just voicing my opinion as well.

you don't see me as a moderator here striking your posts, do you? (this time "you" means moshi)

on an almost-related-but-not-really note, i grabbed the demo of Unreal Tournament 2003 a few days ago...sweet...

i agree with you that here is the wrong place to debate this issue. you won´t find much to strike here as i did not take part of the debate anyways. it was just your attitude that annoyned me.

sorry. after looking back on some of the posts i make, i feel the same way. like bakerstreet has said a million times...why don't we have an edit feature for our own posts?

i just got done reading back looking for your posts as a matter of fact, trying to find your reference to "other goals in my live than learning how to kill people" but couldn't see where you listed any of them(goals).

then again, i have "been there, done that" as far as serving during wartime, and it irks the hell out of me when people assume they can enjoy their freedoms without a cost and ask "can't we all just get along" like a college professor who has just gotten off the bong.

i admit i suck in a debate/discussion. i get my feathers ruffled quick and tend to pounce first, forgetting to ask questions period. so again, no offense moshi, or anyone else i pissed off.

i thinnk i'll stop posting on this thread so ya'll don't think i'm attacking you and you can go on with yer discussions. enjoy

How's the weather? I think it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Bummer!

It used to be just the military who were really in harm's way because the oceans insulated us. Now uninvolved civilians are in harm's way, and all they had to do to get there was go to the office to work.
BTW m, during all the years I trained in the military my life's goal was to prevent war. Second highest goal was to stay alive. Third highest goal was to have a family and a life. As far as goals go, killing people never made the list.
i have to apologize as well. it was wrong to say that "learning how to kill people" is the main goal of people who join the military. sorry, sometimes i type faster than i think ...
just a quick clarification...then i'm gone.

when i said:

after looking back on some of the posts i make, i feel the same way

it was referring to moshi saying:

it was just your attitude that annoyned me

and what i meant was that my attitude (the way my written communication comes across) sometimes annoys me to...which is why i wish i had an edit feature, so i could reword the stuff a little better.

/me ducks out and back over to the message board marathon thread...

(wow... no one is posting... *ahem*)

Yeah, well, you guys, are... a, um, bunch of hippies... or something... and, and you're, like, wrong, and stuff...

ha, take that...

Woah dude, started something here. Much simpler back in the 60s. If you didn't like someone, you threatened to nuke em.

Hey we can't forget something here guys. Why didn't Bush Sr. just take out Saddam a long time ago? Was it really just a dumb mistake like we all think? Or was it for a purpose? It's possilbe that Bush used Saddam as a wet blanket on Iraq's economy. He's totally screwing it up and keeping Iraq from becoming a world power. Is this such a bad thing? As long as we can keep his nuclear toys away, we should be fine, right? That doesn't do much for the Iraqi people, but if they want a new leader, they can do it for themselves like the US did back in the Revolutionary war.
I'm just here to discuss, not get personal. Skinning is about creating, so lets create some ideas in a friendly atmosphere. Arrighty?
