Newbie help please?

Hello

I want to install some desktop themes like desktop x or a Window Blind etc, i installed one but didn't like it, so closed outta the thing that was in the sys tray, but none of the defaults went back to how they were apart from my wallpaper, so i had to do it all manually and it was very annoying. (Like i had to change all the icons, my winamp skin etc).

I would like to try some more things but don't wanna spend half hour getting it al back again, and wondered if there was anything i can do that is easier just in case i do not like the one i download?

So i just want to be able to install themes but if i don't like them, be able to go back to how my icons were before i installed them, instead of doing it manually.

Thanks

Ross

If you open IconPackager there's an option under 'Tools' to restore all icons.

Powered by SkinBrowser!

sorry me don't know sometimes I get lucky when playing around w/ trying things out and sometimes I don't and it's a royal pain having to set everything back to default manually when you get real daring & start goofing around...

but that's just the hazzards of skinning... hehe

I won't even tell you what the other hazzards are...
(might scare you away)

okay here is the fix...

go into your icon packager directory and find the "theme" folder
delete the icon theme you currently have it set to...

then go open up iconpackager again and you'll get a msg that states "the existing theme has been removed do you wish to go back to the default icons?" (or something to that effect)

then select "yes"

then you'll be back in business

oh and don't listen to Kinrik... hehe

oh one more thing...

go back into your recycle bin and restore your theme (but don't worry cuz it wont change back okay until you select it again using icon packager)

Ahhh, sorry, ok, i found out how to do it, but when i press restore defaults, it goes back to windows default i.e, zip files are no longer xip files etc, i want it to go back to how i had it before, if you see what i mean.

If what you had before wasn't default, you're out of luck I'm afraid.
