Just my thoughts

As I have uploaded 5 different wallpapers and only 1 of 5 have been posted. That makes 4 in a row. As I don’t do abstract art I only work in 3D I get the impression that my work is nether good nor worthy in there eyes. I have read over there examples of what will never get posted thru there moderation like, Bryce art well I don’t have Bryce I don’t use it never liked it I use 3DS Max. Another example is a confused composition in 3D with conflicting light-sources belying the form, well I use a sunlight system with the hours, minuets, seconds, month, day, year, time zone, and if it is in daylight saving time or not. I also use the Latitude and Longitude of the location if you were on earth. So any light you see is correct. I even go so far as to put most of the stars and constellations in the correct location. I’m not saying that I’m the greatest of 3D artiest, I still have a lot to learn in 3D. But with some of the effects that I have been able to create with no plugins (to expensive) or tubes is worthy to post. I have decided not to add any more of my wallpapers to WinCustomize site, but still believe they have a lot to offer so I will continue to offer there programs and info about them on my Dreamdesign3d.com site, as well as work with there media.

NOTE this was not intended to be a put down nor a WinCustomize bashing at all.
I hope this will not be taken the wrong way. I also hope no one thinks that this is just another whining user. Before I post any work I display it on my desktop for a week to see if I get tired of it, if it passes that part I then ask my wife what her opinion is if it gets past that then I send it to 10 to 15 other people on the net in chat rooms most of whom I don’t even know to get there feedback. If it gets any rejections I don’t even take the time to post it. So you see why I would get discouraged in posting more artwork. If this gets me banned for saying this then you might as well throw free speech out the window. I’m not just someone that comes to TAKE I try to post and also have paid for the object desktop program with all that it entails. If any one would like to see or have any of my wallpaper you are welcome to visit my site it will be finished and open on September 30th 2002.

Perhaps you could upload your desktop in your profile so when someone clicks on your name, they see some of your work? You can do that in "Edit Account" I think you can also put a link to your site in there.....

As for my desktop, it’s the old crapy Windows Me. I’m still not sure how to do the skinning. So for now all I have been doing was wallpapers. As per my site that you saw, that was my free tripod site till I was sure I wanted to start a real site. lol The real site will for sure be up and running by Sep, 30th or before( its 2:30 am here and still working on it). As for your comment about Noah, thanks a lot he means the world to me, as the days go by I notice he acts more and more like me, God help us all lol. I may not have the wealth I had a few years back but I have the best wife, son, and dog I could of ever ask for. Those are old pictures of him I will first get the site up then will update the pictures of him.

Well, some people upload the current wallpaper they are working on in that spot, or one they have done. It would be a way to show your work.... It's not all just the skin...

actually, 1 in 5 is doing pretty good.. there are many who don't have that high an average.

i would definitely encourage you to keep uploading.. and don't worry about testing it out so much before you upload - it's free also, remember that we've got certain specific goals with our wallpaper section, so getting a rejection notice [moderation] doesn't necessarily mean that one of us [let alone all of us] thought it wasn't scottish.. [ie., "if it's nah scottish, i's crap!"]

don't get discouraged!

I think these look nice:

Cyber Transfer
Gears and Spheres

The rest would need more details I think. Maybe more lighting or shadows. Try to keep in mind that the wall has a fore ground, middle ground and a background. You can have all three or any on or two but KNOW that you are using them or not.

Besides that your 3D work, in my opinion, is very good. Oh and what the guys are saying is that for the user profile you could put up a image even though it is not your desktop. It could be a wallpaper or maybe a gif image.

Here is the link:

You have to be signed in of course.

Sooooo who else is going to put a image for thier profile??????

Pretender, I know how you feel. I spent over 3 months designing a Windowblinds/ObjectBar theme. There was a tremendous amount of detail in it. It was a woodgrain design that I mitered the corners of the windowframe so it would look like a picture frame (one pixel at a time) and managed to get all the woodgrain to tile seamlessly. I posted a screenshot last Monday, and the moderator gave it a 5. In three days, only 11 people even looked at it (because it was rated so low?) and I got one nice comment from elvee. I wanted to post here and ask for constructive critisizem, but I couldn't figure out how to link to a screenshot. So, Thursday I just deleted it. I don't think I will ever upload anything again.

well your welcome to send a few my way with your name of the art and your nick only a few as I don't have the space or the html know how to do all of what they can do here. but I'll be glade to post a few of them wallpapers and or desktops. I'll creat a new page for the desktops. And type out a few things you want me to say with it like what it is like what systems it will run on and what programs you will need to run it. Just go to my site and click on the link that says add my wallpaper. Dont forget to zip them. lol

Werewolf, I didn't post the skins, just a screenshot. I figured if they were only a "5" and nobody looked at the screenshot there was no point in uploading the skins. It takes a very long time to upload on my 56k modem (that usually connects at 28.8). If you would like to have them, drop me an e-mail and I will send them to you. I also did a UIS1 skin to match for those "problem apps".

Jebland--Upload it. once it's uploaded people will see it and download and some will rerate it.I've seen works rated a 4 and downloaded out of this world. If they like it they will rate it higher. You have nothing to loose.

Also I very rarely look at screen shots. No need to because I can't do anything with it.
