Transparency question from a newbie...

Hey! It's kinda been a dream of mine for quite some time to get a semi-transparent taskbar and the backgrounds in windows, such as in AIM and Explorer and pop-up windows and the like to be semi-transparent as well. I've found a few programs online that make the entire window semi-trans, but it's not really the effect I'm looking for. Does anyone know if this is possible on Win 2k with Windowblinds, or have any info on what I'd do to make it so? Thanks!

I believe you can do that with WindowBlinds. As for the taskbar, I'm not sure if WB can make it semi-transparent, but if you use DesktopX, and replace the windows taskbar with a DX taskbar,(ie: a DX object) then you can definitely make it semi transparent.
Have fun!

Good to hear! Of course, now for the big question... how? The taskbar should be easy enough, but... suggestions for the windows?

Windows FX will allow you to make the taskbar semi-transparent (as well as almost everything else) - it's a part of OD.

WindowBlinds will let you make the explorer backgrounds transparent but I don't know of anything that will isolate an AIM window. WinFX will do the AIM app but it's going to be the whole thing, not just the message window.
