I just got XP... and I don't know how to..

Hello, my first time with WinXP and I like it alot, but I'm having some problems to use a full theme like that MIIG. I just don't know what to do with that ZIP file. Can anyone help me??

Another one, I downloaded the WB program but I can't use any full theme with it... I just don't know how to use that

With WB you right click on the desktop and select properties then select the appearance tab.Tben choose your skin from the Windows and buttons Dropdown box. Besure that any skin that you have downloaded is designed for use with WB on XP as indiicated on Wincustomize with the windows logo and Win XP support above the skin description..

BTW on XP WB skins will work fine they just wont skin the taskbar... or start panel...

Each library section that you see on the left side of this web page contains skins for a particular application. For instance, the DesktopX section has skins/themes that are only useable by the DesktopX program.

On each library section webpage, you'll find, near the top of the webpage, links to find out more information about the application for that category.

If you downloaded the MIIG theme that's currently featured on the frontpage then, you'll need Winstep ( http://www.winstep.net ) which is comprised of two pieces of shareware software: NextStart and Workshelf. NextStart is a skinnable popup menu and task system. Workshelf is a skinnable tabbed program/shortcut launcher.

If you downloaded the MIIG WindowBlinds skin, then you'll need the WindowBlinds program ( htttp://www.windowblinds.net ) WindowBlinds, skins all of the standard Windows controls you see on your desktop (titlebars, taskbar, buttons and so on).

You say you downloaded WindowBlinds. Once you install the program, download a WindowBlinds skin from the WindowBlinds section on the left side of the page). Download it. It'll probably have a .WBA extension.

Now, go to your computers Windows Display properties window and click the Appearances tab. This is where you can load and apply WindowBlinds skins. Press the Add button, and browse to and select the .WBA WindowBlinds skin you downloaded. This adds the skin to the list of installed WindowBlinds skins on your computer.

Now in the Appearances window, select the pulldown and select the the skin from the list. Press the Apply button and that skin is then applied to your desktop.

ON XP all WB skins will work; Skinz not designed for XP will skin everything except the Taskbar and start panel

Ok some more details,

I downloaded an theme from this site called MIIG, the archive is a ZIP file with maaaany archives from that theme, but I have no idea of what to do with those archives!

If you cannot purchase I think it best to use the shareware. If I remember correctly it skinz most everything and doesn't have a time limit...

I hate the shareware im using it now.. but it just change the skin of the borders the taskbar and some other... the Start menu is the same, it doesnt change the wallpaper.. man i saw some GREAT themes on a site called xpthemes, and some ones here too! BUT when i use them.. they arent nice...

About the Zip file...

I don't recommand Winzip. I think its not trust worthy.. well i like the one that im using.. well its korean.. but i think its compatible with english and couple languages.. its called Alzip. (kinda matches my name too!) and its fast and easy.. well i heard that EasyZip is good too.. but never tried it..

Hmmmmmm.... Alzip and purchasing windowblinds? Did I see that correct! I am wondering why strider was not advised to purchase OD! There is not a better deal to customize the desktop than the variety of choices OD makes available. Windowblinds, DesktopX, Objectbar to name a few. Why buy the milk when the cow is a few dollars more.

Sally, for a simple reason: he mentioned that he didn't have any money.
Buying Windowblinds for 20$ would be a good start. Don't want to push it and suggest he should spent 50$. I've been 15 before and 50$ is a lot of money when you only get 5$ for every lawn mowed.

Money always seems to be a factor. You are most definately correct. I suggested OD for the amount of utilities it has not for the price. Many apologies.
