Best tutorial??

Hello. I'm trying to get into skinning and I'm having a lot of trouble which is surprising me. Anyway, I'm looking for somebody to possibly lead me in the direction of a good tutorial to get me started. I'm trying to use the one stardock links to by Alexander but I just can't seem to get going with it.

I'm having little, annoying problems like buttons not showing up where they're supposed to and whatnot. I feel like I need a beginner's faq or tutorial if one exists.

Everyone's wealth of Big Trouble knowledge is quite impressive. I applaud you all.

As for the typing, I have a secretary with green eyes who I dictate my message to through telepathy.

And for the person who asked what i'm trying to skin, good point, i should have mentioned that. Just tryin to make a windowblinds skin (that's as best as I can describe it at this point in my progression).
