What happens to "/ me" things if you change your name?

Does it replace your old name with your new name or does it think something along the lines of "f**k this, I'm going to sleep. No one will notice"

ok, so it DOES change the "/me" thing

vanilla_n: on the edit account page, look for a link saying "change my nickname" I don't know what T-Man was smoking when he said "change email address"

Anyway, I hate this new name, so I'm going to change it back now

I got the same thing with "sylva". I was wondering if it was actually taken by someone else or if it was just too similar to the one I'm already using.
