UIS - Help

I don't seem to be able to find any skins in UIS format. (Running Win98)
Is there something I'm not comprehending, or are there just not a lot around?

The uis file will be found within the WindowBlinds skin folder. The WindowBlinds format is .wba, the .uis is much like an .ini file.

Perhaps my problem is that I have no idea how to install a skin (other than from the Display Properties Skins tab "Add" button). WindowBlinds help file provides no clues either.

Are you looking for skins with uis1? You won't find it in all, if not most skins. If it's available it will be listed in the "Sub Design" drop down list.

Actually, a UIS1 skin will not necessarily be found as a sub-design, sometimes the main skin is in UIS1 format. The way to tell is by looking at the skin preview in Display Properties. If there are 3 windows shown in the preview, the skin is UIS1, if there are 2 windows, it is a UIS2 skin.

Guess I need to explain better. I'm totally new to WindowBlinds. I downloaded several skins, thinking that all I needed to do to install them was to click on the "Add" button in Display Properties. When I did so, and selected a zip file, all I received was an error message that said there was no UIS file. What am I missing in being able to download and install a skin set?

If the file is in .wba format, you can simply click on it, and Windowblinds will install it automatically for you.
If it's in a .zip , you can just unzip it normally.

I see now, Buddy Logan. I think that's a fairly common error. I know I've seen it addressed here before. Hopefully someone will come along and explain how to fix it.

I just found a clue in another thread......... Chris sez;
That error often happens when you click the link to the skin to automatically download and install it.

Right click the link, save the wba file to disk. then double click the file to install it from disk.
