Does Window Blinds/DesktopX Slow your PC down?

I find that when Im using a skin, Themes from these programmes my pc slows down alot. Things take longer to load that when I dont use the programmes and just have XP like it should. Is there any tweaks or anything I should do to speed things up?

They shouldn't, unless you're using an extremely intricate theme or have a low-performance computer. WindowBlinds 3 is actually better-designed and should perform better than the built-in skinning capabilities of Windows XP, even if you're just using the original Luna theme included in XP.

WindowBlinds doesn't slow my machine down.
I haven't used DesktopX much, but when I did try it, I found some themes would slow it down a bit. Like the LCARS theme, there is so much going on, (it's too cool) the computer is busy.......... doing nothing.

hey, ive used shareware version of the forementioned softwares, and like any other software that runs in the background, it does slow ur pc down a bit, but the app to be more concerned with is dektop x since it loads so much more stuff. But if u have a decent pc, (1ghz 128 ram) u should have no problem with any skin.

well ive found windowblinds 3.41 hell of alot faster than msstyles
desktopx is very good but its same as anything its type of skin you use

ive tested the desktop running without the apps and running with its faster with windowblinds and DX, as i constantly run DX, WB, FX & Cursorxp with DX system monitors which is really good

Its probably the DesktopX. Depanding on the theme it could run allot of stuff in the background or for that matter have allot of animations. It also has transpaerncies running too depending on the theme.

I guess the question is what themes are you using? Right now I work mostly on a laptop and there are themes that slow things down.

So which DX? Which Windowblind? I could probably tell you what it does because I have them all for the most part.
