OS X Arial Font

okay... mac os x does this cool thing with the arial font.. it's a little darker and a little faded... if you've been on one, you know what i mean, and you know that's it different from the arial on windows... my winamp skin has that effect on the arial ... does anyone know how to get that effect? or download a new version of arial that has that effect? thanks!

here on www.wincustomize.com.. click on winamp.. search for mac

you'll see what i mean

what i mean by faded is that the edges are faded

I think you're probably referring to the OS X system feature known as "font smoothing". It's not that the font is so different but rather just that it's displayed as anti-aliased text.

XP has a new font smoothing option called ClearType. It produces a similar effect and you can select it in your Display Properties. On the Appearance tab, click the Effects button, then change your font smoothing setting to ClearType.
