Jafo

I am sitting saddened on my couch. Stare to the sky and empty thoughts. I posted a fairly general comment on the topic wallpapers are going to be moderated harsher than before. I may be wrong but it looks like everytime I write something you feel sort of automatically in disagreement. Would you please stop picking at me? And if you have criticism on something I upload would you please put that in the appropriate comment box, instead of mailing it, so that it can be talked about right here on the message board, in order to let other people learn from it? Can you tell me your reasons why you everytime have to behave in such a manner I am feeling not welcome here?

I was under the impression that everyone who's wallpapers got moderated received an e-mail, so I strongly doubt Jafo has nothing better to do with his time than think of ways to pick on you.
If Paul was to post on here every time a wallpaper got moderated, then this board would probably get 15-20 posts a days about it.
Hardly a constructive idea.

Lecrayon..
I made use of the 'rejection' email as a convenient way of contacting you about your wall.
It was not moderated, it was accepted [by me].
I commented that there were ways to 'improve' the submission directly to you in a private forum.
This was, in fact, a more polite method than picking public fault with it.
Would you rather I post the email here?

'feeling not welcome here' a bit strange considering the last sentences in the email.

If you were NOT welcome, would I have been bothered to comment in any way at all, considering that the work was NOT rejected?

I looked at the FS preview.
I downloaded the file.
I looked at that.
I 'experimented' with a modification [as noted].
I approved the submission.
I emailed you personally about the work.

So, considering the work-load involved with wall moderations, etc....and the time and effort I've expended on your one wall, it's a bit much to have to now defend my efforts as well....

Thanks for letting HH3 through Jafo. But you know very well I wasn't referring to a specific wallpaper. I was referring to your reaction on https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&NewsID=1161 and to your mail. As stated above, it was a general comment with a try to objectivize the tension between innovative and popularity. Maybe you can explain to me how you have meant the reaction there, other than that you disagree.

Lecrayon: Reading what Jafo put in his response he was answering both you and 1renegade at the same time. Hence his constant referral to 1renegade's comment about people suggesting to artists what is and isn't likely to be accepted. I really think you are reading too much into it.

Basically what it boils down to is that an artist is free to create what they like but if they want it accepted here it will need to be usable as a wallpaper (usually a nice image with space for icons to be plonked) and look like someone has put some effort into creating it. I suspect however that were a wallpaper to be an outstanding piece of art in any case it would get through in any case.

I haven't seen his email to you so can't comment on that.

PJ, thank you for putting things into perspective. I really appreciate that. Such an explanation is acceptable to me. Time to let things rest.
