HELP ME! OMG HELP!

Can some one PLEASE tell me where to get the default ntoskrnl.exe file (off da net or on the XP Pro CD) or if they could e-mail an unedited version to [email protected]. Please I REALLY needs this.. Thanks Heaps

Umm, i uplaoded it but it came out a ".EX_" file. and wot open in Resourse Hacket to see if it is the right file (and the orginal .exe file does).

If you got it off the CD, could you tell me where it is (like the exact directory path). That would help heaps. Thanks

It should be in the I386 directory of your XP CD. It will be named "ntoskrnl.ex_". Copy it to your hard drive and then use the "expand" command. For example, "expand ntoskrnl.ex_ ntoskrnl.exe".

Ok, yah! I ahve found the file I am looking for BUT there is one small problem. Again it is a .EX_ and you sa "Expand" but how do I do that? Oh, and it looks like my Boot.ini file is stuffed aswell (gone), where would I find that? (And where does it go: lik window/system 32? or what???). Thanks for all your help, but still really need these questions answered.

I mean, the file IS on my hard drive but it is an edited one and i NEED the original one...(stupid me forgot to make a back up)

Hmm, sorry to say that, You don't knoe hoe to uset the expand-command but fiddle arround with ntoskrnl.exe ? strange...
