Hi! I'm having problems viewing the skins/wallpapers/etc... thumbnails through skinbrowser. The thumbnails doesn't appear, neither the full screen shots! This already happened before but it ceased. Now it happens again.

thanx

Likewise, I'm seeing the problem again too.

Try refreshing your library database. You may have to exit and then restart SB for it to help. If that doesn't work, try clearing out your IE temporary internet files.

I'm being noisy, yes it's true! But because I'm paying for something that I'm not being able tu use!!!!!!!!!! Is it's SO beta that this kind of stuff has no reply or answer, then it shouldn't be charged... Isn't it? Do you, CheeseCow, like to pay for something that you aren't able to use????...

So, again, can somebody from WinCustomize tell me how this problem could be solved?

I tend to agree with João. Yes, SkinBrowser is beta, but it's not early beta, and this problem has been occuring for awhile now. It's been reported here and on the newsgroups, and it's frustrating that it's still an issue. Frustrating too is that I have no idea what version I'm really using because the version number doesn't report as correct in the last few releases. I've downloaded .99D twice, and it still reports .99b (that's after deleting the earlier version).

It can be a problem but I just click on to the web browser and look at the pretty pictures there. No big deal. I can wait for the fix.

remember all, that you paid for a subscription. The skinbrowser was a gift for subscribing.

Nonsense. We all paid for everything promised. Very few of us needed the subscription anyway, since the download limits only affect the leeches.

I take it you believe those informercials that claim you get all kinds of free stuff with your payment? Hint: It ain't free if you have to buy something else to get it.

But wait! There's more!

NOW how much would you pay?

Tarkus: From what I've seen from Canadian people's posts around the net, nothing there can legally be called "free", unless it is totally without cost of any kind (no shipping, handling, required purchase, etc). If that's so, it makes so much sense, I'm ready to cross the border!

There has been some problems with cookie handling. Alexandrie is re-writing some of the cookie code and while it's being switched out, there have been a few hiccups. They will all be gone in a bit.

Hmmm cookies ... I'm hungry now

Cookies are ready, hiccups are gone, yes! At the moment, it seems to work fine. Thank you!

The problem is that we have changed the path to where the files are stored and the library.ini file in the skinbrowser directory is not getting updated properly (we are looking into this).

But as a quick fix if you delete your library.ini file and restart SkinBrowser it should correct the problem.

Thank you T-Man! Deleting the .Ini files worked fine!
Now, let's see 3 things:
1. Thank you everybody for discussing this topic;
2. I'm sorry that some of you think that you shouldn't claim when not receiving what you have paid for;
3. Thank you Mark Smitka and Tarkus for being fair and honest;
4. I know this app is in beta (even if not early beta), but this topic was already discussed many times and no solution was presented;
5. Programming a good app isn't easy stuff, but when we decide to charge for it we should also be preapared to quickly identify and solve the raising problems (that always appear...);
6. So, we have the right to claim for something that we pay and not receive, and who receives the payment for the stuff should run for obtaining a solution;

For now I'm happy that at least a workaround was found, but I would love to see very quickly a new version of the SkinBrowser with this (and others) issue solved!

Thanx

I can tell you now that there will not be an update to SkinBrowser for a couple of weeks as the author is on a well deserved vacation.
