Of course I should probably mention the other 2 PC's:

Athlon XP 1700+
Thermaltake Volcano 7+
1GB DDR
DVD ROM
80GB Maxtor
Radeon 8500 attached to a 17 inch CRT and a 15 inch TFT via DVI
Running XP Pro
Wireless Trust Keyboard, Wireless MS Intellimouse Explorer

I don't know how anyone could cope with all the fans mentioned above. Mine already sounds like a jet taking off with the volcano on it's highest speed setting.

and:

Duron 1000
512GB SDRAM
PlexWriter 16/10/40a
80GB Maxtor
Geforce Ti4600 attached to a 15 inch TFT (same monitor as before) via analog
Running XP Pro
Cheapo Logitech mouse and cheapo keyboard

I'm not completely sure, but I think that it has been only males who have contributed to this thread. Does anyone else see the irony. I mean, it's obvious what this is really all about, isn't it?

errr.... I have been looking in. I have no idea where to find all that information. But I have been looking at all the numbers and sizes and thinking "it's not the pen, it's the penmanship". So I guess you are right, maybe.

I ended up thinking that I could have a big fancy computer with all the bells and whistles and still couldn't make it sing without more skill.

Lol GM you can see all these infos in System Properties it tells you almost everything if you have Windows Xp (it tells more!) To find out more about hardwares.. use the Device manager it'll tell u about devices on your comp and if those devices are working properly or if its in a bad shape

Adni...is there any chance I could sneak over to your place and 'borrow' your comp on a 'permanent' basis?
You may call it 'theft'...I'd call it 'upgrade'....

Well, mine pewter sits under my desk. It has a keyboard and a monitor. When I asked it what kind of pewter it was it said for me to mind my own business. Then it went back to quietly hummming some sort of unknown tune. It and I have not spoken since.
