What kind of files are you downloading, Kevin? If they are WindowBlinds skins, you need to have WindowBlinds installed to use them. http://www.windowblinds.net

I know exactly what your talking about. I fixed mine, however, I have no absolute idea how I did it, but if I did, I would surely tell you. All I know to tell you is to save it. Then, it should be saved as a WinZip file. If you don't have winzip, goto http://www.winzip.com and download it. After that, copy all of the files (the pictures and yes the .uis files) and paste them into another folder you have to make in your C:\Program Files\Object Desktop\Window Blinds folder, errr... just under your window blinds folder if you have it saved under a different directory. So, basically... here is an example:

I make a WindowBlinds skin, and you download. Let's say it is called "Floppy" and so you download it to your desktop and viola, it is there. Now, you goto you Window Blinds folder (if you have forgotten where it is, do a search) and make a folder in the Window Blinds folder called "Floppy" so you know it is the floppy skin. Because the name of the folder determines the name that comes up under the 'Appearance' tab in you desktop properties. Now, you select everything from the original Floppy WinZip folder and drap to the Window Blinds folder (or just copy & paste).

It should now work. If you have any more questions or problems, leave another post or just plain email me at [email protected] and I will respond to you ASAP. (I prefer you email me if so please.)

Hope this helped and sorry it was so long:(,

Vimmy...why go to all that trouble? If a WB skin is in zip format, you open the WB config dialog, click the "install from disk" button, browse for the file and select it.....and you're done. If the WB skin is the .wba format, all you have to do is open the file and it installs the skin.

I guess I didn't think of that... hehe
But, I have this question for that resolution.
Does it then copy that winzip file to the WB folder?
Or does it just always open it from the winzip file whever you place it on the computer?

'Cause if it does, then say 1 day you move it or something, you will have to re-configure the WB config dialog to goto the new directory of it. Now really, that isn't to much of a hassel, I personally would rather it be were is should in the first place.

Well to begin with, I download all my skin type zips to the appropriate skin folder. Some programs read the files directly from the zip, some do not, but I know where they are.

In the case of WindowBlinds, a folder is created in the WB directory when you install from disk, or install using the .wba extension.
