CD icons won't change in WinXP..

i keep chnaging the cd icons but it keeps reverting back to the default icon. Anybody know the problem?

Yes. That is a XP problem. I didn't have any luck in that also and I tested plenty programs for that. XP handles the CD and DVD icons different, that's why.

The "icons" for those have states, so they are not a traditional icon. They can not currently be changed with Icon Packager.

Try E-Icons98, that has no difficulty changing cd/dvd icons. Although it was designed for Win95/98 it works fine in XP. I've been using it with XP for 8 months without incident.

Additional info: i don't think Icon Packager files works in E-Icon program. If your planning to use E-Icons program, u need to download a seperate skin to use it

I think you probably could use your IP files with that program... mostly because they are standard format... the file you download is really a zip with a bunch of .ico files and .icl files... which are very common...

IP icons are standard and work fine in E-Icon98, you just have to browse for the IP theme folder to select an icon.
