Jump lists not showing for some apps

Somehow on my PC, Remote Desktop Connection doesn't show a jump list button although it does have pinned and recent locations.

What's strange is that it works fine on my laptop and it's the same link I used to pin the app.

I don't really know if any other application does that but I must say that I'd like to use the jump list for this one.

I'm running Start8 1.12 on my desktop and my laptop. I have this problem since I first used Start8 (1.08 I think).

I've tried several ways to solve my problem but nothing worked. What I did try:

- reboot

- unpin & pin again

- unpin & pin c:\windows\system32\mstsc.exe directly

The next thing that I was going to try is to reinstall Start8.

But since it's not a big problem I didn't try it out yet.

Hi

On my side, there is the same problem.

Can you fix this - or isn't it a bug?

Hello there,

There is no jump list for remote desktop connection.

WinRar, for example, has jumplist.

Running Windows 8.1 RTM on my new PC.

I'm also missing the jump list on remote desktop with 8.1 RTM. It worked fine with Windows 8.

If I pin to the task bar, the recent list is populated just not when pinned to start 8.

Any ideas? This is one of my most frequent apps and its really annoying that it is gone. Other program have jump lists without problems on the start 8 menu, such as Firefox, word etc. it just seems to be RDP that is broken!?

I have just upgraded to the latest Start8 (v1.30) but it made no obvious difference.

Thanks,

Phil

We made a change in 1.3 to how jump lists are obtained and to the best our knowledge it should be working fine.  Make sure you reboot if you did not before.

Remote desktop connection is getting jump lists here.  I can only assume the shortcut you are using for remote desktop is bad and does not contain the information required for the OS to link it back to the jump list for it.  How did you create it?
