How meny Skinners Have you Flesh met

I have been doing Skins and Icons for about four years now, and I have not met any of my fellow skinners. That seems od to me, that such a big part of my life is dedicated to Skinning.
Is this common, or rare? How about you? With the exseption of Stardock employies there is not a lot of exuses for skinners to meet in the flesh.

Skinners are spread so far and wide its almost impossible to meet each other. If you think there are billions of people in the world but only a handfull of skinners its not suprising. We can still meet here though...

I live in Greece and you are very welcome, if you ever come!

God I hate driving. Used to love it when I was younger. Wife doesn't like to fly. I guess all the Texans could come to Ft. Worth. I'am on vacation 1-7 Sept.

It's not very odd, if you think about it. Skinners are wide spread. You saw that guy from Greece, I am from Panama. Werewolf is from Texas, for god's sake!

Besides, if you meet a skinner, the only topic that's gonna pop up in a conversation will be about skinning, and that's a bit boring after a while.

Luke de Sade: I'm not so sure that's true. With such a diversity, it would be really interesting to find out about life in the country/area, food ( ), cultural differences, etc.

No, though people in computer stores try to tell me about skins all the time... lol. Oddly enough they are usually avid skinners and the only site they know about is tucows...

Adni18 is from Greece?!?

Awesome! I was wanting to have my honeymoon there, but I can't seem to get it through to her how cool it would be...

I mean, come on, the world's BEST topless and nude beaches...

Seriously, though, I have wanted to go there ever since I started getting into mythology as a kid, and then history in school. I love reading about historical war/combat situations and strategies. And that area of the world was awesome a few hundred years before the Romans got big on themselves...

So when she asks me about the "romantic" side of the country, well, hell, I didn't happen to catch that in the history books...sorry

I never met a skinner but already spoke to Russ, Johanne and Jorge Coelho by phone, does this counts?

Here in Brazil nobody knows about skinning, I just see a few brazilians around the community, but let me tell you an interesting short story.

A few months ago I was on a Photoshop7 workgroup here and during the break I was on a group of guys that were talking about GUI design, sudenly the skins topic came in and one of them spoke to me "Do you know that the treetog guy is brazilian? Boy! that guy makes mad skins!".

I must to confess that that sounds strange to me and I did nothing, becoming with no reaction, just saying that I knew about skins stuff.

When we left, we exchanged business cards and in the next day the guy sent me an email saying. "Are you 'the' treetog? WOW! I just found it because your e-mail adress"

that was funny.

Hey Kinrik,
Greece is not only history, you will be surpised when you find out how beautiful the nature is, in this place of the world.
The Greek islands is the most romantic thing you can imagine, for example, Santorini has the best sunsets in the word! (The great photographers are always visit Santorini for the special, colorful and very clear atmosphere). The colors and the atmosphere that surround you at the sunset, are magical and unbelievable beautiful, you will feel like you are in a fairy world!
Not to tell you, that at the nights in Santorini, you can see so many stars in the sky, that it is inpossible to see them in another place and you will feel so great...
Sun, sea, sunsets, stars...
So, what more romantic than this are you seeking for?

Actually, I spend a weekend with Kwee2 and her husband Piere from Paris, France in Brussels, Belgium. We had a great time. It was all in an attempt to meet more European skinners, but we were the only ones that actually went. All others that signed up to go there found a reason not go. So, we dreamed up a reason to go and found one... Belgian beer.
