But of coarse i'm an Airdale. From '85 to '89 I served with HS-4 The Blacknights out in NAS NorthIsland. Best years of my life. I miss it, miss the 'ole gang Been halfway around the world on the CVN Carl Vinson. Might have even crossed paths with jafo and not know it

Anyone else know where i'm coming from? Anybody want to share their military days?

At least you got to see a lot of places. I thought about the Navy but I can't swim, so I'am a little nervous if I cannot see land.

Both of those ships were in the "reserves." Funny thing though, we spent more time at sea than did the "actice duty cans." I was active duty for those 6 years. Wouldn't trade for anything.....learned how to handle in iron, that was for sure!

Fair winds.........and following seas...........

USAF 14 years
AC-130 gunships Thailand, Laos, Cambodia
B-52s Arkansas, California. Wouldn't want to relive most of that time period, but wouldn't trade the memories from those years for anything. Do I miss all those devious, driven, irreverent, merciless, mean-spirited %#&*@s that I flew with - yeah

Wow, that's a mombo jumbo thread to be... What language are you speaking?
Blacknights? NAS? NorthIsland? CVN? Who's Carl Vinson?

All right, I'll let you talk gun-talk between yourselves.

USMC 6 years active duty
USAF 15 years dependant

been to:
West Germany
Austria
Switzerland
Canada
France
Belgium
Holland
Luxembourg
South Korea
Okinawa
Japan
Australia
Mexico

Dad (USAF) was a weapons loader on everything from F-106's to cruises on the '52's.

I (USMC) was a 1371 with Division...blew $#!T up and played with land mines for a living the first few years, then lat-moved to 3521 and worked on deisels and earth-movers.

Every Marine is a basic rifleman...5th award expert here...

I can put a 5.56 NATO Ball Round through a gnat's ass at 500 meters with iron sights on a USM16A2 Service Rifle consistently without dropping more than 3 shots out of 50...

Just imagine if they let me use a SCOPE...

...and that is "dropped shots" out of the V-Ring, within the bulls-eye, within the target impact area...just in case you are thinking I meant I was impacting off target somewhere
