WORD OF WARNING.
For those who don't know (like me). Object Desktop programs have a limited number of activations. I reached mine yesterday.
I feel this is unfair, since I pay a yearly fee to use these.
Stardock will be closed for the week starting on Monday, June 29th and we will be returning on Monday, July 6th. We will be monitoring support tickets and forums during this time but expect delays in responses during this time.

The limits are put in place to prevent piracy. They have been in place for years.
Support is actively monitoring reports and taking care of them.
We also provide a way to back up the license files so that installing the apps again don't hit the activation servers and increase the count.
I think we're more than fair. ![]()
I have heard of that if it's installed on to many different computers but not on the same computer. I have never had the problem and again my advice is from things I have read here on the forums here over the years.
How many times are you talking about?
Opps, I see support has corrected me with the correct advice.
Russell...you'll only hit the limit if you're having issues with re-installing ...eg with re-doing your OS, etc.
The 'limit' is time-sensitive to prevent a legitimate licence being used in piracy. If you ever reach your limit a quick email will see it sorted for you...:)
NUFF SAID. thanks to everyone for the comments. I have reached my limit probably because I am running both windows7 and windows8 on same computer.
I'm so dense, I seem to have missed that. Can ya point me in the correct direction?
If you often format your system(s), you may want to back back up the *.bin file for the Stardock product(s) you have either in:
C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Registrations or the program directory.
You would replace the bin files in this directory after you have reinstalled Windows and your Stardock product(s).
Good info Zubaz ty.
Yes, thanks Zubaz. You rock.
To be more clear, if you restore or reimage your PC frequently, be sure to include the OS and application as part of the backup. If you reinstall the OS from scratch (like from a bundled restore CD), you will need to reactivate.
If you install the application on another PC, you will need to reactivate.
