Dunno If this appies But HEy!

Umm, this isn't really a Customize question, but some help me please. I remember in ME <-- (or 98) that you could change a files extention in the "rename line". E.g: "movie.mpeg" to "movie.avi" and it would do it alright. In XP putting .avi or anything does nothing. Is there any way of changing the file type? I looked in properties. And because I can't change te file tpye, i can't use the .zip Winamp skin's i downloaded (they need to be .wsc i think). Thanks.

If you can help, could you please e-mail me @ [email protected], thanks,!!!!!!

You can change the etension in XP too, you just have to enable it first.

Open an Explorer window. go to:

Tools / Folder Options / View

Uncheck - Hide extensions for known file types.

btw - I do not recommend you do this. It is off by default for a reason!

Oh, I can't stand not seeing the extensions. It's the first thing I do when I install a new system since it was introduced with Windows 98 I think.
Gosh, how can anybody stand not knowing the extension of their files. *shivers* It's like living with the lights off.
