content:hover

I'd just like to say that the efect of having text-decoration: underline on all content of this site is wildly unattractive, and decreases the usability of the site a great deal. Here's the offending line from the "woody" style sheet:

.content:hover { font-family: MS Sans Serif,microsoft sans serif,arial,tahoma,verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold; color: #1B0500; text-decoration: underline;}

Bah, I find it OK, myself.

Underline on all content??
I only see underlines upon mouseover of links, and it doesn't decrease usability for me.

Same here. What is he talking about?

It's appeared with Mozilla 1.1a. Best I can figure is that IE and Mozilla 1.0 and under didn't support "hover" styles for block-level elements, while Moz 1.1a does. The style sheet asks for it, though, and Moz does it's best to comply - resulting in Bold, Underlined text in every content block on the site, switching to that whenever the mouse passes over the text.

The point is that even if it doesn't show up for the majority of users, it's still a mistake to ask for it. It would harm nothing to remove it, and heal things for users not content with IE.

What's wrong with having the text bold and underlined when the mouse rolls over it?

Ah-ha! I see what you mean! I just installed Mozilla 1.1a to see what you're talking about.
I guess right now it's still in Alpha, so no need to panic, but if it's the way it will be in the final release, then yes, it should be fixed. This is unacceptable. Every text goes underlined and bold when you hover over it, not just links. Wow...
