Voodoo - WIP

Green and red are complimentary colors, how can they not go together?  Somebody needs to tell Christmas it's been dressing all wrong.

I want to clarify that I'm not rejecting your advice -- I know it's right, but I was under the impression that complimentary colors "went together." 

Thanks, WG.  You don't think I should change the colors or style on the menu bar or something?  Part of it looks polished to me and part of it doesn't.

When I think Voodoo, I think dark and sinister. The lighting on the startmenu looks bright and cheerful.

A glyph... lit from below (think flashlight and face in the dark).... Tarot cards across the top bar of the start menu? The Hanging Man.? A coffin... or Baron Samedi?... Maybe?

There is a MyColors theme by this name, therefore a WB also.

Good ideas, Wiz and Doc!  I'm glad I started this early.  I'm going to need all the time I can get until October.

This is a serious issue with the website, and the software and how they interact with each other. 

It's early in the skinning phase of this one, so not that hard to fix, but the easily-riled, pissed off lady who sometimes lives in my head is awakened again.  Now I'm going to have to take another 10 minutes off that I hadn't planned on, to do my meditation and pep talk myself into remembering skinning isn't as important on my list of needs as, say, my mental and physical health, and I should just let it go.

Even better: Grunge it up, put in the Voodoo symbols and call it "Voodoo Momma" (or, in your case Grandmomma... )

ive never liked red and green, but im fond of the blue orange composite....

im thinking more sinister... i was thinking along the lines of Coraline... the lil voodoo doll reminded me of it.

Jim, why do you even have that theme?  It's ugly, and it probably isn't Win7 ready,  Are you ah....ah skin hoarder?

I just did a quick color change in my mockup, changed the red to a dark gold, and it does look better.  I also added a radial gradient with the light at the center on the bottom, with shadow coming from all other sides and that helped to wicked it up a bit, too.

Ewww (ewe?)...I don't even want to know about that LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA.

I really like this Karen, but not with the red......... Gold sounds nice, or even a contrasting shade of green. Just my 2 cents...... feel free to ignore it.

The red is out.  And no more choosing colors that are opposite it each other on the color wheel for me!
