With the final release of Iconpackanger 2.0 I am trying desperately to finish up the rest of my FauxS-XP Icon Packs. I have Cobalt, Emerald, Ruby, Amber, Crystal, Sapphire, and purple in the gate and will be up over the next week or so. These are a large commitment of time, and I love doing them.

However I am considering make a FauxS-XP (Black) Iconpack, and offering it up as a reword for a Paypal donation of 2 or 3 dollars. I don’t know how well this will work since most skinners are tech savvy and will be able to get a copy for free without to much work, I have no illusions that I could keep them form being passed around the net. My only hope is that a low enough “Donation” price will make people feel it is worth it.
Anyway, what I am wondering is will I get Flamed if I do this, and how much is to much to ask for a donation.

Let me know what you think and feel free to be rude. I would hate to kill my rep in the skinning community, but I could use the money.

I Love Your work, and have no problem sending money your way, could you find another way besides PayPal, I do not use them and others have a problem with them as well.

I am currently talking to Stardock about doing a 4 Iconpack set for sale, if all works out maybe you will be able to support the FauxS-X Project in the wincustomize store.

I agree, I just got through about 50 icon packs to find me a nice set of icons. I downloaded about 20 of them and what I was left with, was just your cobalt, emerald and black sets

I'd definetly pay for the black set a few dollars. At this mood that I'm in right now, I'd probably pay a lot for a icon set that would contain *lots* of file-type icons and the "My Music/Videos/Documents/stuffings" folders. somehow nobody seems to do them

That, and the fact that you are almost the only artist that does 72px icons. *AND* make them look good that big.

OK, thanks to all you guys I now have a plan. J I will be posting an updated version of my website this weekend. www.fauxs-x.com where I will be posting the new FauxS-XP (Onyx) set. It will be available for a 3 dollar Pay pal Donation. In about 6 weeks I will then post it on wincustomize.com for free. So if you don’t have the money to spend you will still be able to get it. If later then the more generous members of the community. I will then post a new set, at the donation page, and so on.

However, I will also be posting bonus pack of Icons for all of the FauxS-XP Icon sets. Starting with cobalt. They will be available at www.fauxs-x.com for free. This is do that they will be made up of about 100 Icons, some folders and file types will contain copyrighted logos, or Icons (Like the windows logo). And I don’t want anyone to think I am trying to make a profit on other peoples work. I will also post these in the little visited Graphics section at wincustomize.

Not to make anyone think that I am switching to a for profit only mode, I will continue to release the rest of the FauxS-XP Icon sets here for free as soon as I get them done. You can expect FauxS-XP (Purple) next week. I am mostly using the (Onyx) set as a way to get the attention of those of you who have used (or are hopefully using) my stuff and would like to help keep the FauxS-X Project going.

Go for it! You make such sweet icons, folks would be nuts not to pay a couple of dollars for them. I hope everything works out with you and Pixtudio, what a fabu combo! Now, all I need for life to be perfect is a new skin from Dangeruss.

OK, I am officially no begging for money, Well maby not begging. I have set up A donation page over at www.fauxs-x.com. And FauxS-XP (Oynx) Version 1.0 Iconpack is available to anyone who wants to make a donation of $3 or more. So check it out. I will
Post Oynx here in about Six weeks and replace the Donation reward with something else cool, as soon as I can think of what that will be.
