WINDOWS BLIND AUTO START UP

make sure you have the latest version of wb, and make sure you've got a skin selected and the options set properly.

I've the latest version and a skin installed.
Where is the option to load it at startup?

There's an option to prevent windowblinds loading at startup. Just uncheck that box!

I don't find this option in WINDOWS XP !!!

try looking in the advanced configurations dialogue on the system tabs (it's the third checkbox down).

Hmmm. Can't find this in XP. According to the help file you can only prevent wb from loading on startup by switching to Windows classic style or the included XP style.
Strange.

It's not an option that you can choose on XP (no box to check- that box is only seen on 98, 98SE, ME and 2000)

It appears that you are running the shareware version, correct?
That feature (FastLoad) is a feature only available in the registered version.

If you have the registered version and it is still not working, uninstall, reboot, then reinstall (you can have a link/serial number emailed to your registered email address from: www.stardock.com/support)

If you are running Windows XP and find that the skins you set are not loading on startup, please come to the Downloads page at http://www.windowblinds.net and look for a tweaked update file to resolve that.

Koasati, that tweak is no longer there. The only way that it works is if you have the registered version. (It's an enhanced feature)

JavaBrain: Are you sure about that? Starting on startup seems to be a fairly vital thing - I understood the fact that it wasn't was a bug rather than an enticement to upgrade. After all, it doesn't occur on non-XP systems.

BIYS NOW I'VE THE ENHANCED VERSION BUT I'VE THE SAME PROBLEM: WHEN WINDOWS XP START I'VE TO MANUALLY APPLY THE SKIN!!!!

Are you applying the skin in desktop properties/appearence? If you have the correct version of WB it should be integrated into desktop properties. Also you cannot start WB from start/all programs etc.

he probably is having he same problem I am.. WB is not auto starting and is not showing up in the tray. When you apply a skin it shows up but than goes away. This has been appnying me for quite some time now and I am getting no answers

If you are using WinXP and a registered version of WB3, the path to get WB running in the system tray is as follows: right click desktop, choose properties/appearence/WindowBlinds/system, check the box marked 'Place WindowBlinds icon in system tray (needs a restart)', apply changes, ok, then restart.

On a side note...typing in ALL CAPS is considered shouting. Please use lower case type. Thanks!

I dunno what you are doing but when I click on the desktop I get NOTHING that matches what you say to do.
Right clicking on the desktop give me program favorites, shutdown object desktop etc etc..

Sounds like the DesktopX one. Basically you need to get to display properties which can be found in the control panel of Windows.

well I cannot find out how to get to the place where you say BUT if I run wbconfig from a command line I get that option but it is and has been checked off but the window blinds icon still does not show up on the try even after MANY reboots and days of anguish

Right click the taskbar, choose 'properties', select the 'taskbar' tab, then 'customize'. There should be a WB icon there, make sure it is not set to 'always hide'.

tried that made no difference. Course t was already set just fine.
