What is the best way to...

[Warning: I'm a complete newbie when it comes to desktop customisation]

G'day,

Greetings from Sydney.

My work laptop currently has win2k installed on it and I've grown tired of
how it looks. I would prefer if I could jazz up my win2k desktop to look
something like XP (without installing xp).

Is there a theme out for this already? Is desktop x all i need for this? I've searched
for a the xp theme for win2k, but didn't find anything.

How does one embed objects (such as multiple clocks, system monitors, etc.) into my background?
(I want to be able to see the time in San Jose, RTP, India and Sydney)

Thanks for your time,

I suggest you to use ObjectBar.
ObjectBar mimics almost perfectly the XP taskbar.
skins: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=4
Software: https://www.stardock.com/products/objectbar

for the window frames, buttons, scrolling bars and more you will need Windowblinds

Are any of the proggies mentioned above shareware?

what about embedding clocks/monitors onto ones background? I really need
multiple timezones displayed (helps with conference calls, etc.).

thanks for your time!
