Updating Patches

So I bought Sins of a solar empire from walmart a few years ago. Needless to say, and i'm ashamed to admit it but i had some stuff come up and the game got lost in a box and i havent found it till now. Anyway I installed the game just fine. It didn't ask for the CD key or nothing. I began playing and lately i have a huge hate for pirates. So I looked up how to disable them, turns out i need a patch to have the option. Well When i hit "Update game" in the game menu, It brings me to stardock where i created account. Well after that... it doesnt give me the option to  install updates or anything for that matter. I can't even find the place to register my game at... Whats going on? How do i register my game and begin installing the patches.

Ok I downloaded the Gamestop app. But it still won't let me update it shows the game in "my games" it also says update available. But It won't let me update without registration, and I can't register the game because i didnt buy it through the app....

Email [email protected]. Ryat's link is out of date, gamestop is no longer taking registrations for retail copies of Sins. Just explain your situation and they should get your registration all figured out.

You should be able to use the CD-key. Right click on it and see if it brings up a menu that allows you to input the key and register.

Or do what Goafan says.

Nope it won't allow to me right click it or anything. It wont let you register the game if it was bought outside the gamestop app(pure moronic imo) So i'll just email them and see if i get a response... hopefully this doesn't take long or this game is going in the trash.

That feature is no longer available. As I said, people who haven't registered retail copies yet must now go to Stardock directly.

I'm sorry, but you picked a bad time to try and register. Stardock will have a new App soon that will handle registrations but in the mean time its kind of in a flux. If you would have registered when you got the game there wouldn't be any problem. That said, I'm sure support will straighten it out, though I'm unsure of their hours.
