DesktopX start menu problem

I want to get rid of the start menu/taskbar thingy to add my own things. I have added the start menu button (on the usual place) while the taskbar is placed in the top of the screen.
The problem is I have some space below the windows (The same hight as my start menu button) where I can see the desktop. I have checked "Auto hide taskbar" and unchecked "taskbar always on top", but that doesn't help much. When I press the ok button (in the startmenu and taskbar settings) the windows grow to full size for a short amount of time, but then it returns back again.

Does anyone know how to avoid this?

Right click on your desktop, go to "Desktop X" at the bottom. in the next menu, go to "Configure DesktopX". In the configuration window, click on "theme settings" in the left hand panel. In the "Desktop" section, at the top where it says "reduce work area", make sure all four boxes have a zero in them, and then check the "apply" button. Lower down, click the resolution that you are using and you should have solved the problem.
Hope this helps.
