Shutdown

Ive installed XP recently on 2 PCs. On one it shuts donw normaly but on the other it says "Windows is now safe to shut down". Normaly, I thought, this only happens with old PCs. It didnt do this with Windows 98. Please tell me a way or a reason why to fix this. Its not a magor problem, but would be nice to sort it out....

I had this problem and it's because of the APM setting which is not enabled. To enable it, right click on my computer go to properties select hardware and click device mangager.
Click view and then on show hidden devices. You should see the NT ATM / Legacy Interface mode with a red cross on it. Double click it and on the screen that appears at the bottom choose enable from the drop down menu.

Your PC should now automatically switch off completely on shutdown.
And I don't think they could have hidden any better, do you?
