this message board often seems quiet. in the light of these slightly manic (ludicurous?) figures this place is increadibly quiet.

so to test this idea i am wondering if you can hear a pin drop.
/me drops a pin
/me stares intently at the falling pin
/me fights the urge to eat the pin
/me gives in, and eats the falling pin

all right, so a chocolate pin wasnt an ideal test item
however, the point remains valid.

There are a lot of people who come in and download. They just don't chat. There are also a lot of people who *read* the boards, but don't comment. Maybe we scare them off?

Well, I'd at least like to think anyone who frequents the "Dashboard" section already at least knows I exist, if not worships the ground on which I walk. (Okay, maybe I'm pushing it a bit with the latter )

...okay, there's about a 50/50 shot I'm double-posting this now, but I caught a typo RIGHT after I hit "Submit," so I had to at least TRY to catch it!

Pretty much par for the course in any kind of msg board. The busiest my BBS ever got was from 93-96. I logged around 50-60 calls per day. Probably 5% of the callers posted in the message areas. People haven't changed much. At that time, it was calling to DL files 1st, the play Doors 2nd.
What I find really amusing is that sysops complained incessantly about the lack of message posting. The few dialup boards that are still around would give their left lung just to have that many people calling to play and download now.

Well I guess I have to anounce this. Tonight I got so drunk, I shaved my head bald. I'm slightly balding on top and I've been getting so tired of not being able to do nothing with my hair. Excuse me for sounding like that old comercial. But any way I'll see how I feel in the morning when I wake and say DAMN .
