Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

not at all! it is more of an all over inflatable sack that holds you all nice and secure in the middle, streatched out nice and straight. and since your head sticks out one end you can still eat chocolate!

after chaising my own tail for several hours, i have worked out that the simplest and best solution to the current programming task needs the macro:

which is designed to convert:


int diff_CONS_firstrec();


into:

return CHAR_firstrec(F_CHAR_DATA);
}


where it has to find and selectively copy "CHAR_firstrec" and "CHAR" from the before case, since these are different for every instance.

the reason for the macro? there are going to be over 100 instances to do.

i have been told to write a program to compare the data in database a and database b, to make sure that the data convert worked ok.

it has taken me several hours to work out why this isnt working very well, but know i know.

when the computer is using database b, all access to database a gets turned off.

so, the task becomes compare the data in database a, which you cannot get to, with the data in database b

/me has decided to just lie here and tickle fuzzy instead
after all, with hope JavaBean will turn up in a while so we can tickle her to!
/me thinks this sounds much more like a productive achievement than this program
