I would take the rum too but it puts me to sleep instead of waking me up.

Yep, but it's not the same like it used to be. I miss how it was when I first joined this thread. We had a couple extra people that just isn't here now.

Yeah, photography is just my hobby (even though that is what I went to school for....)  I used to spend the majority of my time in a dark room (I love B&W photography).  However, now I just have time for digital   But, I guess that is OK since I'm usually on a computer somewhere, anyway

This was way back there. Around the time I started to join this Thread. Not the whole beginning. I didn't know about this site at that time. But somewhere around the quarter way through.

Shmoopy was the main one. I noticed that she does show up here and there on other things. But she used to be active in this thread. And some other people that came in for a little bit and leave. Anybody know what happened to Dark Mist?

Actually, the one who isn't here as much is feline. His chocolate computer is melted right now. He has been here since the beginning and the other people come and go. Feline must have written a good third of this thread! Wolfie and Fuzzy have the flu... but KG is still here!

Weaksid, i have been here since post 1 of this thread, but it took me a couple of pages to start posting

we have had MANY people pass through briefly, and most of them have been missed. as GM pointed out, there are only a few of us who are long term members of this thread.

personally, i have come to view this thread as both my home and my safe haven. even when most of the message board is a massive flame war, this is a place of love, friendship and respect.

i havent been around much of late, and when ever one of us "thread parents" gets overwhelmed by the world outside of here, this thread slows right down.

today should have been a GOOD day, but it wasnt

after nearly 4 and a half months, my main machine was returned, supposedly fixed!

i didnt get home till 9pm last night, due to overtime at work, and someone dropping a panic bomb on the managing director 1 second before walking out the door! *towering inferno of rage smiley* it was all lies!

so, i get home, tired and wanting only a rest, and i find my machine, returned to me, sitting in the hallway

i was warey, after all the problems, but quietly hopeful.

i found the energy to spend the hour clearing my desk, and putting it into place. suddenly i had a DVD player!!!

the local supermarket have been doing DVD's on offer, and i have purchased about 12 since my machine went down. i thought i could start watching them!

well, i spent most of today moving data between the two machines, updating email, etc.

all was going fine, then i got a hard lock in winXP

i was concerned DX or my DX plugin was the cause. however, 20 min later i got another hard lock! i wasnt online, and DX wasnt running. hardly anything was running.

i have now concluded this machine is unfixable. this is depressing news.

/me thinks it would make a nice planter for OC's doorstop. And a foot stool too!

Sigh, sometimes footstools are the best use for pcs. My old machine was constantly rebooting. It got to the stage where it was doing it 3 or 4 times an hour. I couldn't get anything done. I concluded (wrongly) the bios update I had done had messed up. I bought a new pc. Then, about a month later, I discovered the problem with the old pc > At the moment it's hiding - someday I'll put it back together and use it for...um...a footstool
