Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

41,000 times? That's a lot. What is the most popular thread?

Maybe it is the heat. BTW: Did you try to reset the BIOS settings?

Things like that always happen in the weekends.

/me opens calculator
41,000 / 9,000 = 4.6 views per post

since i often read without posting, only to come back and most later, that is a very small number! a couple of lurkers who rarely ever post but read everything could get us to that.

/me thinks we need to get more views
/me wonders what the viewing public would like to see....
/me *innocent expression number 37*

i think it may be time to "help" JavaBean and GM with their outfil selection...

MadIce - Maybe it is the heat. BTW: Did you try to reset the BIOS settings?

i didnt try that. but then again, i am not sure how to, since i cannot see what i am doing.
the order of events was:

* machine worked fine, but it would not play DVD's, since it said there was a problem with the tv out on my video card. i tried this under both winXP and win98
* i opened up machine and very carefully lifted the video card out of its slot, and put it back in again
* machine no longer boots!

i have taked the card out and put it back in again 8 times already! as far as i can tell it is fully into its slot. i have pressed it in quite firmly.

i get exactly the same set of beeps from the mother board with the video card in and with the video card out. it is as if it isnt going into the slot, but as far as i can tell i have put it in.

/me normally sticks to software
i am thinking of giving up opening up my case.

feline: If you happen to have a second graphics card somewhere then try that one and see if the machine boots correctly. Maybe you can take the one from the machine you are using now to post here? If the machine still doesn't boot then you may have another problem.

exactly the experiment i want to try.
however, my backup machine doesnt have an AGP graphics card in it. also, since it is working, i really dont want to open up the case and start playing around with the cards. not after what happened with my main machine.
