Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

Well, since my fishies live in their bathtub and have lousy 'table' manners (for instance they don't even use a table) they get crumbs in there with them. /me shudders... nothing worse than crumbs in your bathwater!

So what I do is vacuum out their water and give a complimentary window washing... but this time, I took the fishies all the way out, and gave them a prettier and cleaner rock garden, washed their windows extra good, built a couple of 'caves' to hide in and rearranged everything!

hi all

/me is stylin' and profilin' on WinXP SP1...

The Orion and ToonXP icons look so, so fine now. Start button and panel are awesome!!

Haven't reinstalled *everything* yet...Windowblinds, Icon Packager, and the SkinBrowser had to come first. Priorities and all that

Werewolf, congrats on getting XP! It really *is* a lot better OS than the others.

Time will tell. Had my first BSOD in years and lots of system and application errors. Since updating the vid and 4in1's, having had a lick of trouble. It's going to take weeks to get all this stuff reinstalled.

video drivers will do that to you. My laptop had some "issues" with XP until I upgraded my video drivers. The only time I have issues with my computer now is when my husband messes something up. (Now....isn't *that* a bit of role reversal?)

Good choice. Mine's worked without a single flaw since I got 4 months ago. And it's so easy to work with. Having spent most of today wrestling with a W95 laptop, working with XP is a pleasure.

The laptop went belly up this morning, the user not having backed up his documents for at least a month despite my telling him to backup frequently. So he has some customers coming tomorrow and his presentation, all 20Mb of it, is on the laptop. AAAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!! > > > The way to sort the laptop is to use the recovery disk - but that wipes the drive. So I've been fiddling with it to try and get it working. Partial success in that now it will connect to a printer, but no chance of it being networked. How I hate Windows 95. So damned primitive.

/me has finished moaning now.

/me went to see the nurse this morning for a blood pressure check. It's still way too high but is it any wonder with what I have to put up with.

/me moan moan moan

Wow. I've yet to STOP/BSOD on my notebook, even with all the crap I've done to it - and on my notebook the only STOPs I've gotten have been from my mobo (either from my RAID controller, or from the IDE on it not liking being overclocked - go figure. ^_^)

FL- Win95? *gasp* *Choke* *Gag* need...water.....
We don't even support 95 anymore. It's way too old. Though, I'm not sure, but I think I might take 95 over WinME

Yup, W95. That's all thanks to the person who did the IT job before me. He didn't know anything about PCs, being a 'Mainframe' guy, which is probably why he was made redundant - that and everytime a PC crashed he had to get someone in to fix it. Anyway, despite this laptop being only 3years old, it has W95 on it because that's what he asked for. 98 was a bit too 'modern' for him and that's why I have all this aggro.

Here's something to cherish. A few weeks before he 'left', I was helping someone with a PC problem even though it wasn't my job (I worked in Accounts). As I walked back past his office I heard him say to a colleague "they get a PC at home and suddenly they become experts". Yeah mate, expert enough to get your job and do it well enough to get a 35% pay rise haha! /me sticks two fingers up at predecessor and stick tongue out - na na ni na na

he he, FL! That's pretty funny!
So, do you like your new job?
The jobs fine. The problem is the people I have to deal with

Oh, and I forgot to mention, the Assistan Accountant was also made redundant so I still have all my accounting duties

/me isn't complaining. At least he has a job, correction, jobs...

Fuzzy's predecessor: they get a PC at home and suddenly they become experts

/me wonders if that guy is working as a profit now?

/me waves fuzzy off to work... welcomes OC to his tree... finds a true tickling for feline... brings elf a personal icon for being the one person in all of WC with their name consistently in prominent position on the message board (sorry they only had the invisible kind)... wishes KG's daughter is in good health so KG can play with vigor.... and tells Ws where the chocolate cherries are (they are KG's super special Christmas treat that she makes)....

GM - You could try a vaccum to clean your fish's bath

Yea, OC should be joining us soon. He'll be back from farming those trucks.. which I wonder how much they have grown. I would like to get one off of him.

Goodmorphing has fish. So does the Old Crab. (1)129 Gal. (1)75 gal (1)55 gal. and OC gives his fishies regular baths too! OC is too tierd tonight from having to try and make some sort of sense out of W.Bushs State Of The Union Address. After a good pipe and possibly an ale to further dull my senses I'm going to bed. OC is signing off now. I hope everyone in the Fantasyland Thread will have a good day on the morrow.

Now I lay me down to sleep, if war should start I pray to keep
Planet Chocolate soft and sweet, and good friends here when next we meet.

OC, and GM, I have fishies, too. We have a 55 gal tank and a 10 gal tank (which we use as a hospital tank if one of the big fishies gets sick). OC, you have a 129 gal tank? That must be one big tank. What kind of fish are in it? I find the 55 gal to be enough to upkeep. I can't imagine taking care of all those tanks. Do you use a diatom filter? We use one about once a month. Keeps the tank nice and clean. Use it to suck out the stuff in the rocks, too.

Daughter is finally doing better. The antibiotics are doing their job and she is feeling pretty good. She slept from 10pm to 5am without waking up, which is the first time since she got sick, so that is good. (Which also meant that I slept from 10:30pm to 5am, which was nice....most sleep I've had in a very long time). I usually get up at 5, anyways, so it was OK that she woke up. She drank some water and went back to sleep, so I think that she is finally kicking this thing (I hope). I hope she can go back to preschool soon. She misses her friends.

I'm glad that she's getting better. I know the feeling. I was sick for 2years straight. But with something worse. But how your body reacts is almost the same. At least it only took anti-biotics
