The grass strands are at first boyant. They would tend to float upward and then follow the wave motions first all waving one way, then back again. Soon they would discover clinging properties and would press up against you in interesting patterns.

I don't think that I will be jumping anywhere any time soon. I did something really bad to my back and haven't been able to sit or stand or do anything for more than about 20 minutes at a time. Spent Sunday morning in the emergency room because I was in so much pain I couldn't move on my own (good thing my hubby was home!) So, now I'm on Vicodin and Valium for the pain. My brain is a bit fuzzy right now, so maybe I'll fit in better!

OOOOOO... KarmaGirl, I am sorry to hear that! Is it your lower back, or in your neck? Did you lift something, or have you been very tense lately? Chocolate is sure to help! Get better soon!

You have my sympathy though. I've had a bad back for many years. I'm familiar with your symptoms. At the moment I'm fairly OK providing I don't do anything stupid like lifting heavy things. Have you tried laying on your side with your knees up? That can ease pressure on the spine and back muscles. Make sure you put some cushions under your waist to make yourself as level as possible. The other position which helped me was flat on your back with knees up. You won't have the same problem as me (mine's arthritis of the spine) so it's advisable to get a good diagnosis. When you do, let me know - I know a lot about backs!

Hope you start feeling better soon. And as GM says, lots of chocolate helps...

Another thing.... if they offer some shots in the trigger points, don't turn them down! I had a bad strain in the neck-upper shoulder muscles that lasted nearly a year (and helped cost me a job) and a single shot in the right muscle by a dr in a free clinic fixed me right up (the expensive drs in the fancy offices had no clue what to do).

/me thinks it happened when a patient tried to strangle me with my scrub top, she twisted it and hung off my neck for a good five minutes until the guards peeled her off me. That is part of why I don't really want to go back...

Actually, it's not far off. I have rheumatoid arthritis (have had it since I was 13). It has been acting up lately, and I think that the inflamation in that hip may be what pinched the nerve. I should have known better and rested when it started to hurt, but instead, I just popped some pills (Naprosyn) and kept going. At the hospital, they did give me a shot of something that was very close to morphine, along with a large dose of Naprosyn and Valium. Couldn't feel half my body for awhile

Thanks everyone for the sympathy! I need it! I'm feeling pretty pathetic right now. I hate having to rely on other people to do things for me.

yes, I think that the tickling will have to be postponed until after the back heals. I'm actually at work today, however! The worst part of this is- my Dr. wants me to drink no more than two cups of coffee *a day*! Is he insane? What will I do?

The drugs that I'm on are helping, though, i should be back to my old self in a few weeks. I am taking a long weekend and going up north (upper lower peninsula of Michigan) to visit my family. It's about a 5 hour drive, but we will be stopping a lot along the way. I figure the relaxing weekend should help me out a bit, plus, I'll be around family. I am also going to a baby shower for a cousin of mine whom we didn't think could ever have kids (she has severe diabetes and is on an insulin pump) so it's a happy occasion!

In a couple weeks, on the 25th, my daughter turns 4 years old.....makes me feel old!

JavaBrain, as for the coffee, can you substitute chocolate at all?

21? Yeah, I remember that year. That is the year that I met my husband.....I've known him for almost 9 years! I told everyone at my last Birthday that I was still 29, but they wouldn't believe me!
