lol, Crae... same here. I was running 1600x1200 on my 17" for ages. Came back down to 1280x1024 in the last month or so though due to some stuff I've been working on...
Renita: the iMac line of computers (both the CRT and new LCD model) has always pretty much been made and marketed like an appliance... there's very little there in the way of internal upgrades that a user can perform other than adding memory or an Airport wireless network card...(which is why there's such a huge market of firewire drives for iMacs

) anything else normally requires an apple approved techie or someone who just loves to spend some serious time taking things apart - very carefully.
OTOH, I don't like lots of external doodads hanging off my machine and I do like digging around in my computers and doing all the upgrades myself, as painlessly as I can, which is why I went for the Power Mac tower where the entire motherboard side of the case hinges down with the lift of a handle.
