WinXp Skins

I don't get it. I download a winxp skin like the Xmasblinds. It saves it to a temporary folder as a .wba file. But when I click on the file it's a shortcut to download the .wba file. When I go to properties it doesn't read them so how do I install these skins?

Try this, right-click on the download link and tell it to "save target as" and save it to your desktop. Then just doubloe-click the downloaded .wba file on your desktop.

There's been something weird going on with WB downloads going to a temp folder...

IE6 that ships with XP is the culprit, I think.....does strange things to your downloads.....just use the 'save as' feature and you should be OK...

You don't have to. If you have WindowBlinds 2.x it should work fine, and if you bought it recently you may be entitled to an upgrade - see www.stardock.com/support/

If you don't have WindowBlinds 3.x, XP-specific skins should still work, but without the XP stuff.

Sandra,

This has been a problem for a few months now. To fix the problem open Windows explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types, scroll down to wbload document, highlight, edit, and check the "confirm open after download" box. OK your way out and close windows explorer. When you click the download link you should now get the standard confirmation box.
