Help with Object Bar

I don't have WinXP, but I seem to be able to create the XP Bar, however I am having a problem with the Menu. I get the bottom, right, left and top okay, but the menu comes up as the windows menu and can't seem to get the WinXP bottom, right, left and top menu to come up instead. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

well, i may just be back

i have just grabbed a copy of this UIS info, and hopefully will get as far as making it work on my home machine tonight.

on a different front, i have remembered a comment that went up next to the "Docking Station" WB skin when it was first posted. basically it said that it contained animated buttons which were produced via WB scripts.

of course, only a deranged individual would even wonder if you could somehow animate only parts of the window border with WB scripts

/me wonders if there is a document on scripts anywhere
/me wanders off to download docking station, to try and find scripts

on a different front again, have you tried the latest builds of object bar yet?

version 0.9 and above will do the trick of hiding all the items on your start menu that you havent used for x days, *even* on win98!

/me considers this a life changing event on work machine

Hey, I've never been known to be sane. I seem to manage to try the impossible, thinking surely one of these days it will work.

Thanks, I've got Docking Station but didn't realize that it used wb scripts. Skin Studio has where you can insert scripts, it puts it in there, but I haven't been able to find out how to tell it what info it needs (if any of this makes any sense). When I analyze it, I get no info, but when I go into the section I don't see how to give it info, or even for that matter what it wants.

This seems to be an endless accumulation - menu problems, animation problems and script problems. But on the bright side, that's all I've run across so far. Well - except for one other thing. I tried the transparency bit with irregular borders, but the magic pink showed up. I even had trans=1 inserted, dynamic frame, but still the magic pink. So went back to full borders again. Still haven't given up on the idea though and am still toying with that portion.

By the way, think we should start a new thread - seriously. This one takes forever to come up. What do you think?

/me things skin studio is an evil plot to drive me mad

if you simply look at the skin files then you will find several (7) wbs files.

by the looks of it the scrips are using a stack based language. the interesting upshot is that stack based languages are supposed to be more natural for non programmers to understand, so you could be at an advantage here.

transparancy - odd that. the standard answers are you are missing flags, although you sound like you have used the standard ones. are you sure you have exactly the correct shade of hot pink? try a colour checking program and see if the colour number is exactly the same as another skin with working transparancy. if you are off by even one then it wont work.

i do see your point about the size of this thread

i am in two minds, partly because it is quite an achievement we have here, but on the other hand getting someone else to share the pain would be kind and generous of us

it would need a suitable name though. how about "Help with Object Bar2 - more confusion"

or: "Help with Object Bar2 - were back"
