Unable to Save New Dtop Themes

Just recently I have been having some difficulty in saving new desktop themes for my Windows XP system (to be more specific, saving the cohesive design of a wallpaper, font type, and color scheme). I have had an XP system for a few months now, and have become rather comfortable with the way I can customize the general look and feel of my personal computer.

However, I have been having some unwanted trouble as of recent, under which when I try saving a new desktop theme (such is when I view the display properties' Themes tab, and click "save as"), a few things happen: 1) when I try to save a theme and overwrite an existing theme, the presently existing theme deletes itself upon being "saved." The dialogue box inquiring as to whether or not I do wish to overwrite does come up. Unfortunately, if, say, I wish to save a new theme as "blue sky" where "blue sky" already exists... the system will select the theme file that already exists, I will click Save to replace the file. Then, as I go to the themes folder to check on the file, I find it deleted completely, from my hard drive.

2) Not only does this overwriting problem continually occur, but I am also unable to save new theme files. If I try to Save a new theme, not overwrite an existing theme, the theme... as simply as I can say it... does not save. If I modify an existing theme, say, "cloudy sky" (by applying an existing theme and then adding a new wallpaper to an already existing color and font type theme), the theme goes through the Saving process, however, upon venturing to my Themes folder the teme file does not exist... and, upon viewing my system display properties, the theme reads (hypothetially) "cloudy sky (Modified)" instead of the actual, hard copy file of simply "cloudy sky."

Any help whatsoever is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

No help, but I'm having the same problem. I have saved over 100 themes, most after installing SP2 with no problem. Now when I try to save a new one, the hard drive just chugs and chugs.

What exactly do you mean with "themes"? WindowBlind themes, Theme Manager themes or are you using a system hack to change the msthemes?
