people / humans

if reading this, anyone feels the need to point out that i am strange, feel free

i find that people (minds) make sense, be they male or female. yes, this does imply that i can fathom the female mind, it isnt that hard.

however, humans (minds + bodies) are a total and unending mystery to me. i often find while watching tv that i want to scream at the people for doing such strange things, or at least things i dont fathom.

so the question becomes, what makes humans so different from people???

You are strange. Don't forget that TV is not usually a dead-on portrayal of human behavior. If it was, who would want to watch it?

/me thinks we are talking at right angles

human and person are hardly applicable words, but i am not sure what words to use.

when you are basically dealing with the mind alone, "people" are very different to when you are dealing with them as a whole.

as for "fathoming" them, i just dont understand them at all when they are functioning as a whole, which makes them very confusing.

let me invert the question
when watching people on tv, do you find that they make sense, or do you often wonder why on earth they are behaving like they are?

as for wanting to watch it, i am reminded of an articale commenting on the growth of "reality tv". it seems that people are often fascinated by the minutie of other peoples lives.

feline you "are" strange "and" confusing! hehe

feline...it all depends on what TV programme you are watching....now, if it's the Road Runner and the Coyote....well that's real....

/me feels vinidicated

i *always* thought that was proper tv! its good to know that it is also real.

while the emerging concensus is hartening (for it is good to see an issue everyone can agree on ) this isnt actually helping to answer my age old question of why brains + bodies are so much more bizzare that brains on their own.

out of interest, how likely is it that the answer is breasts? i ask since the mere thought of them seems to totaly derail most male minds i know, which presumably leads to an corisponding alteration in the thinking of female minds.

Hmmm....

Well anyway, people=collctive of humans and that = bad, or at least puzzling!!

BTW, Bad=ik so humans(h)=bad

meaning h=b(ik)

So. There you have it. And no Feline, I don't think you're strange! But that's because I am too!!! So don't worry about it.

How about us 'strange' ones go and form some kind of Underground resistance or something...
very interesting! How would the 'people(humans)' respond to that, I wonder....

ahha! what the voices on the radio keep on saying really is true!

there are more being's out there like me! now all we have to do is to find the other 5,999,998 that are supposed to be out there somewhere.

Chocolate. Yes! Even us "strange" ones love that!

Feline, I sent you chocolate, but you probably won't get it for another week or so. (It was sent via the US Post office.) So, you don't have to save *all* your chocolate for a special occasion... you can share some with us!

/me considers the image of half of wincustomize camping out in my bedroom, playing hunt the chocolate

craeonics - Those strange ones communicate through chocolate.

so, thinking this though, this should mean that only the normal (that would be like me) persons from wincustomize will be appearing in my bedroom in vast numbers

/me wonders what effect all this normallyity in one place will have

/me starts gathering together ingredients for an extra large portal to the chocolate planet

I guess we're both strange, because most of this makes perfect sense to me. Entertain a bizarre theory: the mind more or less makes sense, but the body produces those lovely hormones for us, that's where things go bad. We're all walking around half drunk on hormones, being guided by a mix of reason and emotion. Certain things can throw off the balance of the two. For example, I present myself with two thoughts: Breasts, chocolate. All of a sudden I abandon a promising thought and wheeeew...

JavaBrain - Chocolate.... it's not just for breakfast anymore!

/me starts to get worried that JavaBrain may not be getting enough chocolate in her diet

i never realised that there was a rule saying that chocolate was only for breakfast.

i often need some to keep me going till breakfast arrives (the kitchen is SUCH a long way to travel )

and then there is mid morning chocolate snacks, mid afternoon snacks, i need cheering up snacks, and evening snacks as well

Chocolate is one of the food groups (The bottom of the pyramid) but it seems to get cut off in most representaions of the food pyramid. If I recall correctly, at least 1/2 of your calories for a day should come from chocolate. Chocolate covered cherries satisfies both the chocolate requirements as well as a fruit. Chocolate milk is a dairy plus chocolate. There was even a scientific diet produced to treat stress which incorporates a healthy dose of chocolate:
The "Stress" diet

BREAKFAST
   1 grapefruit
 1 slice whole-wheat toast
   1 cup skim milk

   LUNCH
1 small portion lean, steamed chicken with a cup of spinach
   1 cup herbal tea
   1 Hershey's Kiss

   AFTERNOON TEA
The rest of the Hershey Kisses in the bag
1 tub of Hagen-Daaz ice cream with chocolate-chip topping

   DINNER
4 glasses of wine (red or white)
   2 loaves garlic bread
   1 family size Supreme pizza
   3 Snickers bars

   LATE NIGHT SNACK
1 whole Sarah Lee cheesecake (eaten directly from the freezer)

REMEMBER: "Stressed" spelled backward is "desserts"

You can fight science!

oinky - I guess we're both strange

i prefer the term "reasuring normal, just surounded by strange people"

sounds very sensible to me. now if only i could understand hormonaly driven humans, i would know what was going on with them. but then i barely understand hormonaly driven me, it all seems so strange

/me concludes that oinky must be an intelectual

none of the males at work ever seem to get past breasts. they have a certain geometrical apeal admitadly, but surely after 5 minutes thought there isnt anything more to think about them is there???

however chocolate is *definetly* a different matter. just SO many lovely forms to enjoy
