If you mean the boot screen for XP, you can't remove it, but you can probably skin it. I say probably because the program does not work with some machines due to odd BIOS setups.

If you mean smart startup by object desktop then you can turn that off through stardock central. Tools-settings-uncheck enable mcp startup. I think you need the registered version also.
