Gravity: 1 Dangeruss: 0

Just got our of casualty (ER). Had a bit of a shunt while biking. Spectacular over the bars get-off while negotiating a 4 foot drop. Got a touch 'nose heavy' and did a superman over the handlebars and landed on my head and shoulders.

Tally: One broken collarbone. About a dozen scrapes and bruises. An excuse to buy a new helmet and about 8 weeks off bike.

Dammit. >

So, I've got this 'backpack' style brace that does precious little to relieve the pressure and pain. Big problem is that there's not much to do with this type of fracture other than try to support it and keep it as immobile as possible. Kinda like broken ribs. Not much to do, but hurts like hell.

I've found a comfortable position for right now. This will last about 10 minutes and then I'll have to look for another. I'll try wotking tomorrow and see how that goes. Good thing I've got a cushy desk job

So, much to my chagrin, I'll be faced with a lot more available time for other pursuits, skinning being one. It'll take a while before I feel much like moving a mouse much, this typing is easier than I thought, but still no picnic.

Thanks for reading my tale of woe. If you hear a sharp scream from the Southwestern US, that'll be me taking this T-shirt off

No, Russ...it took 10 days for the ligaments to recover enough to allow the bones to stay together and not 'flick' across each other [accompanied by grimaces of pain and cold sweat....the bone then stayed attached and didn't pinch any nerves...then after a few months I could again put some weight on it....[but no shoulder bags of course]...

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the accident Russ. Hope you don't take as long as Jafo did to heal.

But, on the other hand..... we've all been mising your work lately. It'll be good to see something new from you *s*.
